This Privacy Policy explains how Movers4You Inc (“Movers4You”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects the personal information you provide when you visit movers4you.ca or request our moving services. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly — such as your name, email address, phone number, pickup and drop-off addresses, and details about your move — when you request a quote, use our cost estimator, contact us, or sign up for updates. We also automatically collect limited technical information, including your browser type, device, IP address, and the pages you visit, through standard server logs and analytics tools.
If you use our Beat My Quote price check, we also collect the competitor quote you send us — the screenshots, photos or PDFs you upload, or the prices you type in — the name of the moving company that quoted you, and any note you add. Uploaded quotes can contain personal details, so we invite you to crop out anything other than the prices.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to respond to inquiries, prepare and deliver quotes, schedule and complete your move, process payments, send service-related communications, and improve our website and services. With your consent, we may also send occasional promotional messages, which you can opt out of at any time. We do not sell your personal information.
We use a competitor quote you send us only to compare it with our price and reply to you. To read the prices on an uploaded quote, we use an automated tool (Google’s Gemini AI service); a member of our team reviews every result before we reply, and no decision about your price is made by the tool alone. To check whether the company that quoted you qualifies, we look up its public Google rating and review count using Google Maps Platform.
3. Cookies & Analytics
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and measure site performance. We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our site; Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our pages through heatmaps and session recordings; Microsoft’s handling of this data is governed by the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not function as intended.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with trusted service providers only as needed to operate our business and deliver our services. These include our website hosting provider (Vercel), our application hosting provider (Microsoft Azure), analytics, mapping and business-listing services (Google, including Google Maps Platform), automated document reading for uploaded quotes (Google’s Gemini AI service), website usage analytics (Microsoft Clarity), form spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), email and productivity services (Microsoft 365), and payment processing (PayPal). Some of these providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Each provider is permitted to use your information only to perform services on our behalf and is contractually obligated to protect it. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls — to protect your personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data appropriately to its sensitivity.
6. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial legislation — including Quebec’s Law 25, Alberta’s PIPA, and British Columbia’s PIPA — you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request that it be corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent to its use. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timeframes required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and to meet our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations. Quote and customer records associated with a completed move are typically kept for up to seven (7) years to satisfy Canadian tax and business-record requirements; inquiry and marketing data is retained until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer needed. Competitor quote files you upload for a price check are deleted automatically after 90 days; the prices read from them stay with your quote record. Public business information we look up on Google (such as a company’s rating and review count) is kept for no more than 30 days.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
